From its humble beginnings in 1979, Great American Movers has grown to be one of the largest independently operated moving and storage companies in Northern California. With a father in the military, the owner and founder of Great American Movers spent his formative years moving around the country, living on the east and west coasts of the United States and abroad in Asia and Europe. As a teenager, he worked summers for the largest moving company in Norway. Shortly after graduating from college he founded Great American Movers, based in Sacramento, California. Great American Movers knows first hand the stresses and tribulations of moving, and has great respect for the service men and women of America's armed forces. It can be said because of our founder's lifelong background of moving experience, Great American Movers understands your questions and appreciates your concerns and will work hard to ensure that your experience with this company will "exceed your expectations."

A Side note.........
Rose (pictured below) is Great American Mover's mascot and our advocate to remind everyone to spay and neuter their pets. It's the only way to help stop animal overpopulation and homelessness. Rose, starving, bleeding and limping, showed up behind our warehouse in 2000. X-rays showed she had broken her back, and it had somehow fused itself back together, nevertheless leaving her with major medical issues. Rose has been nursed back to wonderful health by Great American Mover's owner and is a famous patient at the University of California Davis Veterinary Teaching hospital in Davis, California. She now enjoys a great life at home with her "mom and dad," her animal brothers and sisters and of course her beloved "purple ball."
